SMART Vehicle Classification Systems - SRC Systems offers several variations of fully integrated vehicle classification solutions, (both single and multi-lane, open road tolling), that can be custom configured to meet the specific requirements of any project.

All variations utilize the SMART Lane Interface, (an enhanced version of the original Treadle Doctor AVC), as the main controller and can be configured with any combination of interfaces listed below. Several options are also available with respect to axle detectors, vehicle presence detectors and vehicle profilers to meet various price/performance targets.

Please contact sales@SRCSsys.com for more details or for information on upgrading or replacing existing Treadle Doctor solutions.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE SMART LANE INTERFACE INCLUDE:

SMART Treadle Interface - Provides 2 Optically Isolated inputs for Entry and Exit Loops/Light Curtains plus 4 Optically Isolated inputs for various configurations of 1 to 4 Strip Treadles with optional Dual Tire Detection Processing. Can be configured to operate with contact based Treadles at 12v, 24v, or any voltage up to 60v, or can be configured to interface with any fiber optic or piezo interface boards.

SMART Profiler Interface - Includes everything in the SMART Treadle Interface plus an additional interface to an overhead ultrasonic or laser based profiler which then provides complete vehicle classification. I.E. Car with 2 Axles, Bus with 3 Axles, Truck with 6 Axles, Etc.

SMART DIO Interface - Provides an additional 24 or 48 bits of Digital I/O to support more complex installations. The DIO is not optically isolated on board but is interfaced via dual 50 pin headers that are compatible with the industry standard Opto-22 interface. All DIO bits are configurable as inputs or outputs in banks of 8 bits. Inputs have configurable debounce timing with automatic change of state notification. Any DIO bits not directly required for use by the SMART Vehicle Classification System can be allocated for general purpose I/O use by the Lane Controller.

SMART Serial I/O Interface - Provides an additional 8 ports of serial I/O bringing the total to 9 or 10 depending on the USB option. Each port is jumper selectable for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 Multi-drop with onboard termination jumpers and fully configurable baud rates that support ultra high speed communications. Any serial ports not directly required for use by the SMART Vehicle Classification System can be allocated for general purpose I/O use by the Lane Controller.

SMART USB Interface - Provides an onboard High Speed USB interface to communicate with the lane controller freeing up the host serial port for any other function.

SMART TCP/IP Interface - Provides a TCP/IP or UDP based interface to the Lane Controller to support communications over network.

SMART Multi Lane Free Flow Interface - Special configuration of both hardware and software which provides interfacing to all high speed free-flow (highway based) lane devices including, overhead laser profiler arrays, in-ground embedded axle detectors, video enforcement cameras, patron feedback indicators, etc. with integrated on board electronics to support dual lane controller, automatic Master/Slave hot standby failover.
